In 2021, founder Catherine Camp volunteered to portray a character during the Longview Symphony Orchestra’s Harry Potter performance. What began as a single magical moment quickly grew into something larger. In 2022, she bought her first princess costume, marking the start of her ever-growing character closet. She continued collaborating with the Symphony, bringing characters to life for concerts such as Star Wars (2023), Marvel vs. DC (2024), and The Lord of the Rings (2026). ​Over time, Catherine fell in love not only with the characters she portrayed but also with the fans who deepened her appreciation for each character’s story and their role in a hero’s journey. The most meaningful moments came from interactions with children meeting their favorite character, villain, or hero—moments that families often shared and that could brighten a child’s entire day. She realized how powerful these experiences could be when even lesser-known characters sparked excitement and curiosity in young fans.

Brittany Melancon has always loved theatre and storytelling, and she believes that stepping into a character can create something truly special for others. That passion grew stronger during her time as an Activity Director in senior living, where she continually sought ways to bring joy, connection, and light into residents’ daily lives.

​When the world slowed during COVID and uncertainty filled the air, Brittany felt a strong desire to preserve that sense of magic for those around her. She purchased her first costume and began dressing up, hoping simply to make her residents smile. What began as a small, heartfelt gesture soon evolved into something far more meaningful. That spark of joy and human connection grew into what is now ETMM.​

United by a love for imagination, storytelling, and creating unforgettable experiences, Catherine and Brittany officially founded East Texas Magical Moments in December 2025 in Longview, Texas, where they all reside. Brittany is happily married to her husband, Nicholas Melancon.

Today, they are dedicated to bringing enchantment, joy, and wonder to families across East Texas.
